Job Summary

The Partnership Director is a key business development professional for the Summit Educational Group brand, building and nurturing relationships with our valued partners in the Independent Educational Consultant (IEC) and school communities. Your role is to build trusted relationships with these partners and to provide a level of service and expert guidance that makes our partners trust you and Summit above all other providers in our space.

 

Basic Logistics

  • Work Location: Hybrid (New York City; Westchester or Fairfield counties). This is a field-based role; while you will work primarily from a home office, you must reside within these areas to facilitate frequent travel for in-person school visits, presentations, and community events.
  • Work Hours: In this full-time, exempt role, you will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
 

Duties & Expectations

  • Serve as account manager for several territories for both IECs and schools.
  • Provide consistent levels of service and communication to current and future partners.
  • Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual lead goals for the relationships and territories that you own and manage.
  • Plan and execute in-person sales meetings with clients on a regular basis.
  • Initiate outreach expansion to IECs and schools not yet connected to Summit.
  • Understand and embody our company core values and sales ethos.
  • Implement strategies to increase brand awareness throughout the IEC and school communities (e.g., setting up presentations/speaking engagements, breakfasts, lunch and learns, and “Meet the Tutors” events).
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Team on collateral, content, and campaigns for IEC and school audiences.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Team to help ensure seamless execution of events, including webinars, presentations, practice tests, and group classes.
  • Participate in regular check-ins, team meetings, and Town Halls, and generally serve to co-create a culture of accountability alongside your colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships Team to coordinate all-company IEC programming.
  • Attend key industry conferences to build relationships and company reputation among schools and IECs.
  • Partner with Program Directors to ensure a seamless experience for IEC-referred students and provide "Market Sensing" feedback to program management.
  • Manage IEC student accounts to facilitate successful student experiences and timely communication with IECs about their students throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Prepare student updates for active students as well as potential clients who are currently in the enrollment process.
 

Core Indicators of Performance

  • Quarterly lead attainment: Consistently meeting school market lead goals.
  • Sales activity: Achieving semester-based school event goals (practice tests, presentations, and classroom programs) in each market.
  • Partner satisfaction: Maintaining an NPS greater than or equal to 80 for IECs across your portfolio and for schools across your markets.
  • Relationship growth: Meeting IEC quarterly meeting goal attainment.
 

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in high-touch client-service or partnership roles.
  • Internal Standing: Must be in good standing and have completed a minimum of six months in your current role to be eligible for this internal transition.
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience with high school counseling, test prep tutoring, and/or college admissions is a plus.
  • Strategic Execution: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic partnership plans to meet revenue targets and lead goals.
  • Outreach Mastery: Experience in initiating and expanding outreach to new partners, with an ability to identify and engage potential IECs and schools.
  • Event Management: Experience in organizing and executing events such as presentations and speaking engagements.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Interpersonal Savvy: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data and market trends to identify partnership opportunities.
  • Project Management: Competency in managing multiple projects and territories simultaneously, with high attention to detail and deadlines.
 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: $80,000–$90,000 base salary (depending on experience) + quarterly performance bonus (total compensation opportunity up to $100K).
