As Program Director, you occupy a full-time strategic position responsible for the end-to-end stewardship of the Summit client experience. This role acts as a vital bridge between our high-level pedagogical mission and the operational execution of our premier educational services.

In this capacity, you will manage a robust portfolio of families, driving organizational growth through expert educational advising and relationship-based sales, while ensuring the highest standards of student achievement through proactive, high-touch case management. By leveraging the institutional resources of Guidewell Education and the deep subject matter expertise of Summit, you will play a central role in fulfilling Summit’s collective promise: Empowering students to reach their full potential and find their own path to academic excellence.

Job Summary

The Program Director serves as the primary architect of the Summit Educational Group’s student journey, balancing high-integrity consultative tutoring sales with proactive case management. Moving beyond a reactive role, this position requires a "Proactive Stewardship" mindset: you are responsible for driving enrollment results by expertly managing the client pipeline and ensuring student progress through successful program management. Your core mission is to serve as a trusted advisor for families, articulating the unique value of Summit and the wider Guidewell Education family of brands.

Success Metrics (what good looks like): In the first 30–60 days, you can independently run the daily cadence (inbox + dashboard + calls) while maintaining strong responsiveness and clean follow-through. Within 6–12 months, you are “out of the nest”: operating autonomously in a remote environment and growing your own book of business beyond inherited accounts.

  • Supervisor: The Director of Academic and Client Services
  • Location: Remote (work from home or an office of your choice)
  • Hours: Full-time (40+ hours/week). 9:00 am ET to 5:30 pm ET

Duties/Expectations

  • Lead consultative educational advising conversations to customize Summit services across the testing and academic landscape—including SAT, ACT, and academic tutoring—to align our offerings with the unique goals of each family.
  • Achieve specific performance targets for both individual and team monthly sales goals to ensure consistent student impact and organizational growth.
  • Facilitate the internal matchmaking process by conducting holistic intake sessions to provide the Tutor Services team with the actionable context required for a high-quality, personalized match.
  • Engender deep trust and rapport with families and tutors through regular, high-touch communication, ensuring a seamless experience from initial contact through post-program follow-up.
  • Monitor the cadence of sessions and student progress with precision, intervening proactively as a dedicated case manager to resolve concerns or adjust tutoring plans.
  • Identify and flag opportunities for holistic support across the Guidewell Education family of brands, facilitating warm internal hand-offs when a student’s needs extend into admissions consulting or specialized coaching.
  • Maintain 100% accuracy in the CRM (One Canoe) and dashboard hygiene to ensure all institutional knowledge regarding student goals and family history is documented for long-term stewardship.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the client journey by honing internal processes and systems to exceed the high expectations of the Summit client base.

About You

  • The Empathetic Advocate: You possess a strong commitment to being of service; you view every family's challenge as an opportunity to provide a tailored, ethical solution.
  • The Resilient Professional: You are the "calm in the storm" for families; you maintain a steady, empathetic hand even when navigating high-stakes emotions or demanding academic timelines.
  • The Collaborative Practitioner: You thrive in a team-based environment, supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge to manage a range of competing responsibilities without losing sight of the student.
  • The High-Ownership Steward: You operate with a "zero-incomplete" mentality and a high level of accountability, taking personal pride in seeing every task through and ensuring immediate responsiveness.
  • The Resourceful Problem Solver: You possess an investigator’s mindset, taking pride in exhausting internal resources and industry knowledge to find solutions autonomously before escalating to leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of proven track record in Educational Services, Admissions, Enrollment Management, or relationship-based sales.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • Internal Standing: Must be in good standing and have completed a minimum of six months in your current role to be eligible for this internal transition.
  • The "Tutor Advantage" (Preferred): Previous experience as an educator or tutor, providing the pedagogical authority necessary to advocate for students during the matching process.
  • Communication Excellence: Nuanced oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely convey complex educational value to sophisticated clients.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep interest in the standardized testing industry and Summit’s specific methodology, with the ability (or clear trajectory) to eventually speak fluently about both. Prior test-prep knowledge is a plus, but not required if you can ramp quickly.
  • Operational Precision: Proven ability to prioritize multiple streams of work and manage a high volume of accounts with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Tool Belt: Proficiency in Google Workspace, CRM tools (One Canoe/Salesforce), Notion, and Zoom.
